The Public Chamber proposed introducing mandatory user identification to view “adult” content on the Internet. We are talking about proof of age through passport data, driver’s license or bank details.
The initiative is aimed at protecting minors from videos and materials with obscene language, scenes of war and propaganda of antisocial behavior. Evgeny Masharov, a member of the RF OP Commission on Public Expertise of Bills, noted that teenagers today have virtually unlimited access to 18+ content, including videos from popular bloggers:
How can this be countered in order to correct the situation, to level out the psychological state of still fragile minds? This determines that content marked 18+ can be available to Russian users only after identification through a passport, driver’s license, or bank information.

The Public Chamber believes that the verification system helps protect children from unwanted materials and do this. Internet more secure. [РИА Новости]
