The Russian structure of the American pizza chain Papa John’s, 4 Papas, is facing bankruptcy. This is what entrepreneurs Nadezhda Vyunova and Eduard Kuchin aspire to, writes Kommersant.
Previously, $273,000 was recovered from SA 4 Papas in favor of Nadezhda Vyunova and Eduard Kuchin, an amount corresponding to the debt for renting premises in Moscow. At the same time, the businessmen demanded payment of 310 thousand dollars.
Papa John’s is the third largest pizza chain in the world. In Russia there are 6.5 thousand of its establishments. At the same time, 4 Papas LLC manages 190 points.
The company considers the businessmen’s statement “illegal” and considers it “a crime,” said Nadezhda Ovanesova, general director of Papa John’s in the Russian Federation. She has already contacted law enforcement authorities to initiate a criminal case.
If 4 Papas eventually declares bankruptcy, it is unlikely that this will significantly affect the network’s entire business, says RestCon director Elena Perepelitsa.
- In March 2023, reports surfaced about Papa John’s plans in the Russian Federation to separate from the parent company and rebrand. The company denied this information and stated that it would continue operating without changing the format.
