MTS aims to acquire the production center Mars Media Entertainment (MME), so the company wants to strengthen its Kion online cinema. According to experts, the amount of the transaction could amount to approximately one billion rubles.
MME is already developing two projects together with online cinema. Kommersant sources in the media market said that it is planned to close the deal before the beginning of spring.
At the same time, negotiations are complicated by the historical proximity of the company’s founder, Rebun Dishdishyan, to the Gazprom Media holding, says the publication’s interlocutor.
The general director of AFI Capital, Alexey Gorislavets, notes that the amount of the transaction could amount to one billion rubles. MME initially produced content for television, but in 2020 it moved to online cinemas.
The total box office of the company’s films in Russia amounted to 4.1 billion rubles, foreign receipts – 5 million dollars.
Earlier this fall, MTS acquired ticketing service TicketsCloud.
