In 2024, two new clothing brands from China will appear in Russia, Natalia Kermedchieva, head of new brands at the Union of Shopping Centers and co-owner of the REC + retail group, told TASS. Semir and Balabala children’s stores plan to open in Moscow in the middle of the year.

Two Chinese clothing brands will enter the Russian market in 2024

According to Kermedchieva, the structure of Vyacheslav Shikulov (partner of the Samsonite, Guess, Boggi brands) will open stores. She also clarified that the retailer is exploring options and targeting sites in the capital’s shopping centers.

Semir is already negotiating with Aviapark and Mega shopping centers. According to him, the first Semir stores could open there in the summer. They will be points of sale with an approximate area of ​​300 square meters. m Balabala will be located on plots of 150 to 200 m2. meter.

In 2022, the Chinese brand Li-Ning entered the Russian market, and next year the sports brand Sprandi will be relaunched.

Chinese manufacturers were already developing the Russian market even before the departure of the largest Western players in 2022. The Anta Sports brand began its activity in the Russian Federation in 2014.

Turkish brands, in turn, do not always manage to become an alternative to outgoing manufacturers. The Ipekyol and Twist stores, opened in 2022 by the distributor Jamilco, have ceased operations.
