The National Council of Latvia closed access to Yandex services in the country

Latvia has closed access to Yandex-related resources. The DeFi portal writes about this with reference to the chairman of the board of directors, Ivars Abolins.

The Yandex.Music service is mentioned separately; They plan to block it in the near future. The resource provides free access to Russian music and podcasts to people subject to European sanctions, Abolins noted.

The ban on access to Yandex resources was a consequence of a law passed in March. According to the document, the media council has the right to block access to sites containing content that threatens public order.

RB.RU sent a request to the Yandex press service, but at the time of publication did not receive a response.
