Xiaomi presented its first electric car SU7

According to Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, the car is equipped with a “super electric motor”, thanks to which the SU7 accelerates up to 100 km per hour faster than Tesla and Porsche electric cars.

The SU7 travels 800 km on a single charge and its maximum speed is 265 km/h. The batteries for the car are supplied by Chinese Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. and BYD Co.

It should be noted that the car’s on-board computer has the same operating system as “popular Xiaomi smartphones and other devices.” The SU7 is expected to go on sale in a few months. The cost of the car has not yet been announced.

Xiaomi first announced its plans to produce electric cars in 2021. However, Chinese authorities are limiting car production to new market entrants. To implement the project, Xiaomi is collaborating with the state-owned Beijing Automotive Group Co.
