Disappointing vision of a career in computer science as presented by the company’s global managing partner IBM For Generative AIMatthew Candy, who told Fortune magazine that artificial intelligence will make it much easier for people without technical skills to create products.

“The speed at which people can come up with ideas, test them and do something will be very fast,” Candy said in an article published Saturday.

The biggest was the recognition that people would no longer need to have a computer-related degree.

“You don’t have to have a computer science degree to do this,” he added.

According to Candy, the development of artificial intelligence will prioritize soft skills such as critical and creative thinking.

“Questioning, creativity and innovation will be very important because I think AI will free up more opportunities for creative thinking processes,” Candy told Fortune.

Candy said advances in artificial intelligence imaging technology could also impact those working in the arts.

“You will be able to take on the role of a designer. “You don’t have to be a graphic designer or have an art background to do these things.”

Candy’s comments echo what LinkedIn VP Aneesh Raman said in an interview on Microsoft’s “Worklab” podcast in November.

“The lifespan of the game is decreasing dramatically,” Raman said.

In March 2023, Goldman Sachs published a report stating that AI could disrupt more than 300 million jobs.
