The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, made several statements regarding the development of the domestic automobile industry. According to him, sales of the new business class model of the domestic luxury brand Aurus will begin in 2025, and production at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga is scheduled to resume in 2024.
“We plan to launch a line of S-Class cars in the near future… There are both S-Class and E-Class. They will be in another price category, they will be more affordable and they will be more mass-produced,” Manturov told TASS about the plans. Aurus.
The Deputy Prime Minister did not announce the cost of the future cars. But conclusions can be drawn from the comparison with other cars of the automaker: the Senat sedan costs more than 35 million rubles, the Komendant SUV costs more than 33 million rubles.

Art-Finance LLC in May 2023 became the owner of the Russian assets of the German automaker, which produces the Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Rapid models in the Russian Federation (transaction value 125 million euros).
