Sales of cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses in Russia at the end of 2023 increased by 60% and exceeded 1.3 million units. TASS writes about this with reference to a message from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
According to the department, half of this volume corresponds to Russian-made vehicles. At the same time, sales of new passenger cars during the year increased by 62% in annual terms and exceeded 1,056 million units, and those of light commercial vehicles, by 35%, to 105 thousand units. During this time, the truck market grew by 74%, up to 140.2 thousand units, and the bus market increased to 17.8 thousand units.
The best-selling model in 2023 was the Lada Granta, followed by the Haval Jolion and the Lada Niva closing the top three. In the segment of light commercial vehicles there are GAZ and cars manufactured on the basis of GAZ, UAZ. Trucks include Kamaz and vehicles based on Kamaz, Sitrak, Shacman and Faw.
