The government commission approved the transfer of 9.8 billion rubles to a Cypriot legal entity for Fix Price Group so that the company can pay dividends by 2022. This is stated in a message from the retailer. Against the background of this news, the company’s global depositary receipts (GDR) rose in price on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 5.2% (up to 322 rubles per share).

The Legal Commission allowed Fix Price to withdraw almost 10 billion rubles to pay dividends

Permission was granted to Best Price LLC, a subsidiary of Fix Price in Russia. The decision of the legal commission is accompanied by a number of requirements and conditions for the company, including compliance with KPIs.

“Fix Price is exploring possible options to pay dividends to its shareholders, taking into account the current regulatory environment, making necessary efforts to comply with established KPIs and other requirements of the Subcommittee,” the retailer said in a statement.

The press service added that information will also be provided on the procedure and timing of the possible payment.

  • Previously, Fix Price Group paid dividends in 2021, during the first half of the year. Then its size was 11.5 rubles per receipt or share.
  • In February 2022, the board of directors approved the payment of dividends for 2021 in the amount of 5.8 billion rubles (6.8 rubles per share). But already in the spring of the same year the payment was delayed for 12 months. And in September 2022, the company completely suspended its dividend policy.
  • In the fall of this year, Fix Price decided to change jurisdiction from Cyprus to Kazakhstan. And at the end of the year, in December, it became known that the retailer’s co-founder, Artem Khachatryan, sold his 35% stake in the company for $1 billion and resigned from the board of directors.
