Apple also showed significant growth, registering 2,536 patents in 2023, an 11% increase compared to the previous year.
This growth allowed Apple to rise to seventh place in the rankings, ahead of companies such as LG, Micron Technology, Intel, Huawei, Toyota, Google, Microsoft, BOE Technology and Amazon. Among the Technology Seven (Google, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Tesla), Apple will see the largest increase in patents in 2023.
In the global ranking of the top 250 patent holders, Apple ranks 51st with 21,407 active patents. While Panasonic is the world leader in terms of patent number with 94,341 patents, it is followed by Samsung with 92,593 patents.
