Telegram’s audience in the country has increased by more than 30 million in the last two years, from 50.8 million in October 2021 to 82.3 million users in October 2023, according to the latest data from Mediascope.
This growth has placed Telegram in second place in terms of popularity among social networks in Russia, second only to VKontakte, which attracted 89.2 million users in October 2023.
All these changes in the usage dynamics of social networks and instant messaging programs directly show how user preferences are changing. Moreover, they reveal market trends in Russia and highlight the growing popularity of Telegram as a primary means of communication and information exchange.
