Efko signed an agreement with the government of the Belgorod region for the construction of a plant for the production of feed enzymes. The group’s investments in the project could amount to 9.4 billion rubles, the company’s press service reported.
The agreement was signed by Efko Innovation Director Rostislav Kovalevsky and Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
According to Kovalevsky, Efko actively cooperates with Russian research centers in the development of enzyme production technologies. Currently, the company’s specialists are finishing the creation of a technology for the production of a series of enzymes essential for the livestock industry.
Today, these markets are supplied almost entirely with foreign products, Kovalevsky notes.
“We believe that the successful implementation of this project will significantly increase the level of food security in the country,” he concluded.
The production capacity of the future company will be 2.4 thousand tons of enzymes per year. These volumes will allow the industry to replace imports with national products, the company says.
The estimated investment in the project could amount to 9.4 billion rubles. Currently, work is underway on the design of the plant, which is scheduled to be commissioned in early 2026.
In early November, Efko announced it would exit its dairy business. The company stopped producing Sloboda and Liberty yogurts. The group explained this step as a desire to redirect resources to other projects.
