The Steam computer game distribution service has made it possible to place games created using artificial intelligence technologies on the platform. Developers will need to notify users that AI was involved in creating the content.
Steam has made changes to the rules of use of the platform. It will now be able to host games created with the participation of artificial intelligence, the service says in a statement.
Added a section with information about AI to the survey that developers complete when submitting games to Steam. It should indicate exactly how artificial intelligence was used in the creation of the game.
“By agreeing to the Steam Distribution Terms, you promise Valve that the content of your game will not contain anything illegal or infringing, and that the game will comply with its marketing materials,” Steam said.
Steam has also launched a system that will allow users to complain about game content that is generated in real time. Adult content that uses real-time generation cannot be published, Steam emphasized.
