Due to increased congestion in low orbits due to the increasing number of satellite launches, there is a significant risk of collision and the spread of space debris. Comprehensive studies on the space environment are required to develop effective strategies for the responsible and sustainable use of space resources.

MOCAT stands out with its ability to model single objects, various parameters, orbital properties, fragmentation scenarios and collision probabilities. It is a feature-rich and powerful tool that can distinguish object categories, summarize parameters, and provide multi-level calculations.

The MOCAT tool was developed by the ARCLab team as open source software to help stakeholders, including satellite operators, regulators and the public, make data-driven decisions.
