Recently, I had an urgent need to find a good sleep identification app to suspect that I have sleep apnea. First, let’s talk about why this is relevant to you, and then we’ll talk about the Mintal Tracker program.
> Go straight to the app overview.
A couple of years ago, I came across a video that depicted the events of a silent killer, an invisible pandemic that is affecting millions of people.
Obstructive sleep apnea or sleep apnea is a common movement problem worldwide, affecting 4% of men and 2% of women.
Snore is one of its signs, but the main daytime symptom is the accumulation of emissions, regardless of how much you sleep.
At night, it is detected by the fact that breathing is interrupted for an average of 10 seconds, oxygen does not enter the blood, asphyxia begins, and the body is forced to sharply change position, at the same time disrupting sleep.
The disease is dangerous. You can live with it for ten years, not know it, not treat it, and thereby ruin your cardiovascular system. Also, with age, the risk of simply suffocating in your sleep increases.
This happens for various reasons: a deviated septum, enlarged nasal turbinates, excess weight, a short jaw or narrow side passages. I fall into at least the first two points.
I feel the symptoms myself. There are absolutely broken days, he stays awake all night. Another unpleasant moment is that almost every morning you need to catch your breath in order to wake up.
The thoughts were legitimate. I can’t figure out the consequences now, so I started looking for at least an application that confirms or denies the threat.
At one time there were sleep tracking programs that recorded snoring and reported it as sleep. But now they demand crazy money for a subscription.
While Apple is only planning to add an apnea fixation function, it is already available on the iPhone
After a year of searching, I got lucky.
I don’t remember how, but I came across the wonderful app Mintal Tracker. By the time of discovery, the symptoms had worsened so much that I was ready to take their trial subscription and observe the condition for at least three nights.
I was surprised that after the trial period ended, the free version retained almost all the really useful fish. And initially they are available to everyone.
Look, everything you need is there.
Sleep tracker with psychotherapist effect

The Mintal Tracker application is available on iOS and Android; first of all, the creators position it as a snap tracker.
It records periods of snoring, recognizes sleep stages and compares them with Apple Watch heart rate, and measures the quality of sleep per night. The head system is built into the iOS sound detector to add them to the report as a dream.
But actually I can safely call the program a real hub for a healthy head. It includes collections of healthy recipes, inspiring quotes and dream books, a meditation center, a dynamic book of recipes for every day, and a personal planner of healthy habits.
And absolutely everything written above, let’s use it for free.
From paid AI generator features, stress and health risk surveys, cloud storage, and the ability to hear what you sound like during an obstructive sleep apnea attack.
And although the functionality is broad, focusing on the track won’t help.

Typically, in applications of this form, the statistics panel is hidden behind a paywall. It’s free here
After starting the main meeting, a large key “Start tracking”
Then you should list negative effects during the day, such as fatigue, drinking coffee or eating before bed, smoking, being on your phone in the dark, and others.
Then it remains possible to connect the smartphone to the power supply and leave it next to the bed. If you have an Apple Watch, the heart rate monitor will also come into play.
In the morning we turn off tracking and after 10 seconds the report is ready.
I got the most basic functions:
These are all free features that are hard to find in other apps.
If you consider them in relation to each other, you can find patterns. For example, notifications about sleep apnea coincided with a sharp increase in heart rate. Trust in data that independently reinforces each other is immediately greater.
But application to medical research is not a complete replacement. The readings are not 100% accurate.
There are 4 dimensions of different criticality
In 90% of cases, all data is similar to reality, but sometimes obvious errors occur in the software.
1. In the new apartment, the program mistook the noise from the window for snoring and gave me 38 points after 12 hours of sleep.
2. I’m not sure that the apnea phase is the correct result. Sometimes the statistics and records would show snoring, showing an obvious bout of difficulty moving, but the app wouldn’t classify it as apnea. If you find out about it, as according to the app, it sounds, you can only pay.
3. Sleep phases do not always match with the app Health from Apple. The breakdown here is only into three phases. Sometimes the program loses what I woke up and fell asleep.
4. Probably the most dubious aspect for many will be the lack of Russian language. But you don’t need to know English to display your points and listen to your snoring.
It won’t solve the problem, but it will help evaluate it
As a result, over the course of a month and a half, a clearer picture emerged. I have an obstacle, because of it I jump several times a night, my snoring is frighteningly loud and eerie. Now the guest is invited to spend the night ashamedly.
Mintal Tracker also explained why sometimes I wake up in panic mode – there are days when my heart rate at the moment of waking up suddenly flies from 46 beats to 100. This is also not a good sign.
To be honest, with such an analysis I need to fly to the hospital, so I assume that the application will help me solve problems at an early stage, plus or minus, and save me from serious heart problems in 30 years.
Since the application is free, try to recommend it to everyone. Learn a lot about yourself.
But I’ll add that it’s also not worth getting into fanaticism about identifying every metric. Recently I got tired of it and spent a couple of nights completely without gadgets.
I took off my watch and turned off sleep recording. And the next morning was one of the best.
