The digital NFT diploma will contain programmed metadata about the graduate, information about the educational program and graduation year. The first such diplomas will be awarded to graduates of the Faculty of Law’s 38 further education programs from 2019 to 2023.
Such documents have a high degree of protection against forgery, thanks to the use of blockchain technology, which ensures integrity and prevents possible alterations.
Galina Mozhaeva, First Vice-Rector of the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University, noted that obtaining a diploma in NFT format can be an additional advantage for a graduate’s successful career and attract the attention of potential employers.
This innovative project also acquires strategic importance for the university’s additional vocational education system, which actively promotes digital services. From January 2024, the university is moving to a new digital platform where the NFT diploma service will be integrated into the personal accounts of students in further education programs on the HSE education market.
