Apple has cut orders of OLED screens for the new generation iPad Pro by 20-30%, reports Aju Korea Daily.
The company initially ordered 10 million displays: 6 million from LG and 4 million from Samsung. Now Apple has reduced LG’s order to 3-4 million screens, the agreement with Samsung remains unchanged.
Analysts believe the drop in orders is due to Apple’s changing expectations for device sales. The next company plans to use the 13-inch lighting model because all screens for it must be made by LG. Samsung is responsible for producing OLED displays for the 11-inch version.
Apple may have revised its sales forecasts due to high prices for future tablets. According to rumors, the 11-inch iPad Pro with OLED screen will cost $1,500, the 13-inch – $1,800.
