Several large Russian banks have joined the digital ruble pilot project, including Sberbank and Tinkoff. The total list of pilot participants has expanded to 30 financial organizations.

Several large Russian banks have joined the digital ruble pilot

The Bank of Russia has expanded the list of financial organizations participating in the digital ruble pilot project. The updated list of companies is published on the Central Bank website.

In particular, Sberbank, Tinkoff, Russian Standard, Expobank and Tochka Bank participated in the project. All of them signed an agreement to join the digital ruble platform and are setting up systems, the Bank of Russia reported.

The Bank of Russia has been testing the digital ruble on a limited basis since August 15, 2023. Currently, more than 10 banks, 600 individuals and about 30 companies in 11 cities in Russia are participating in the tests.
