China launched the world’s first satellite with artificial intelligence into orbit. The Rongpiao commercial hypersatellite (Xingshidai-18) was created by the Chinese company Guoxing Aerospace Technology Co.
It should be noted that this is a new satellite with an integrated detection network. It is equipped with an intelligent system specially developed by the company.
The device is specialized for in-orbit testing of the Synaesthesia Fusion artificial intelligence algorithm. Rongpiao will enable remote operation of the platform for future communication networks.
The Smart Dragon-3 launch vehicle will deliver a group of nine satellites (not only Chinese, but also Egyptian NExSat-1). It was launched from a floating platform in Yangjiang City.
China has begun to implement an important project to form its own global network, which will be made up of more than 26 thousand satellites. Thus, by 2030, China aims to achieve the status of a world space power.
The country aims to deploy 6G networks by 2034.
Last month, the private American company United Launch Alliance (ULA) launched the Vulcan rocket to the Moon. It must deliver a 90 kg payload to the Earth satellite by February 23.
