Softline plans to buy cash register equipment maker Atol

According to the publication’s interlocutors, the negotiations are in their final phase. One of them believes that Softline will only buy a stake in Atol.

Softline and Atol declined to comment. Irina Makarova (owns 50% of Atol Management Company LLC) said that she was not ready to talk about rumors.

Experts believe that this agreement will allow the company to expand its customer base in retail, as well as strengthen its position in sales of not only software but also hardware.

  • In January, Softline announced the acquisition of payment terminal developer Inversum. 100% of the payment equipment provider was acquired by a subsidiary of Sky Technologies. The companies have already announced a future joint product: it will be a line of payment terminals based on domestically produced equipment and software.
  • In early February, the company announced the purchase of a stake in the IT management of the R.Partner group of companies. Thanks to the agreement, a multipurpose computing cluster will be created in the Far Eastern Federal District. The main goal of the cluster is a permanent platform with three vectors: exhibition and promotion of Softline solutions for customers of the Far Eastern Federal District.
