Yandex has expanded the Bug Hunting program for smart devices, adding new products from last year: Duo Max Station, Midi and TV Stations, the company said in a statement. At the same time, the maximum reward amount for found vulnerabilities increased from 600 thousand to 1 million rubles.
The company hopes this will attract more “white hat hackers” to test the robustness of the devices.
The focus is on finding bugs in new devices. The company will pay up to 1 million rubles for critical vulnerabilities found in them.
Yandex also increased the reward for vulnerabilities found in other devices, for example, in the Mini Station with watch or in the Max Station. The amount will depend on the severity of the error.
- In 2023, Yandex will invest more than 6 billion rubles in digital security, double the previous year. The money was spent on the development of secure data storage systems, the development of protection technologies against DDoS attacks and fraud, access control systems and other areas.
- “Bug Hunting” is Yandex’s ongoing program for finding vulnerabilities. Anyone can try to find a vulnerability in the company’s products, report it and receive a reward. Yandex uses this approach to increase the reliability of services and timely learn about possible risks.
