VTB Bank again filed a lawsuit against the British subsidiary VTB Capital Plc: the Moscow Arbitration Court received a lawsuit for the collection of debt on an overdraft loan in the amount of 2.38 billion rubles.
“In the future, VTB intends to take all necessary measures to pay off the company’s debt within the framework of current legislation,” reads a statement from the bank’s press service, cited by the Interfax agency.
The claim has not yet been admitted for processing. In the two previous court cases, VTB was successful. In December 2023, the bank demanded €22 million and €52.6 million from its British subsidiary; The cases were examined in St. Petersburg. The court ordered the seizure of documents and funds from the accounts of VTB Capital Plc. as a provisional measure.
VTB Capital Plc problem. with payments emerged after VTB was included in the sanctions lists. The British representative office, managed by Teneo since 2022, could not find another bank to open accounts, which now prevents it from paying its debts.
