UWB is more precise than Bluetooth and allows the vehicle to pinpoint the location of your iPhone. The tool instantly recognizes your presence, eliminating the need to fumble for your phone or “dance” with your keys.
UWB’s resistance to cyber attacks provides an additional layer of protection against unauthorized access, and thanks to multiple phone keys, the vehicle can recognize who is on the driver’s side.
Currently, only iPhone users with UWB hardware (model 11 onwards, excluding SE) can take advantage of this benefit. While Android phones are catching up in terms of UWB chips, official support from Tesla has not yet arrived.
