Since the end of last year, with the entry into force of the European Directive DACC7 2021/514, used platforms such as Vinted or Wallapop are required to notify the Tax Agency. Thus, they must take into account all those users who carry out more than 30 sales in a calendar year (from January to December), or, if they are less, if they exceed 2000 euros.

It has already been a month since DACC7 came into force, the first day of the year, so the whole mechanism is in motion. So much so that platforms have already started notifying users via email to provide the platform with the necessary data so that the Treasury can report your sales.

Logically, not all users receive this notice, only those who exceed the threshold defined by the European directive, so everyone who meets the conditions will receive a notice and subsequently have to report to the Tax Agency.

Wallapop is already asking users for data

The threshold, as we say, is 30 sales per calendar year, or at least that the sales amount (or one) exceeds a total of 2000 euros. The data requested by the platforms is exactly what the Treasury needs to identify taxpayers to whom DACC7 applies. That is:

  • Seller’s first and last name
  • Tax Identification Number (NIF) or Foreign Identification Number (NIE)
  • Address of the place of residence
  • Date of Birth
  • Information about sales made, such as sales volume, date of sale, and products or services sold.

As we say, there are already users who have received the notification, so if you are a regular Wallapop or Vinted seller, you will have to provide your information and pay the appropriate treasury. How much will you have to pay? If you stay with 2000 euros, nothing. But if you exceed the threshold, you will have to pay on your next return.. If sales exceed 6,000 euros, you must pay 19% to the state treasury.. And it is growing. When the profit is between 6,001 and 50,000 euros, the tax will be 21%. And more than 50,000 euros, 23%.
