Meet ThermoSight HISS-HD. Developed by defense contractor Teledyne FLIR, the HISS-HD thermal imager uses advanced technology that allows snipers and machine gunners to see their bullets in flight at distances of more than 2,200 meters. This eliminates the need for traditional tracer bullets that illuminate the shooter’s location.

Although HISS-HD is primarily intended for military purposes, the underlying technology has potential for a variety of civilian applications such as search and rescue operations or wildlife monitoring.
