Megafon began transmitting data on identified phishing resources to the state Anti-Phishing system. With its help, more than 122 thousand fraudulent resources were blocked in 2023, writes Kommersant.

Megafon transmits data on phishing resources to the state Anti-Phishing system

In January, the operator transmitted data on about 6.7 thousand suspicious resources. The company noted that scammers usually disguise the login interface as an account on a social network or VK, Telegram or WhatsApp. They also imitate Gosuslugi, the banks’ official websites.

Other large telecom operators do not transfer data to the state system, but are developing their own anti-phishing solutions. Beeline offers its subscribers anti-phishing solutions from Kaspersky for an additional fee. Tele2 is testing a model to automatically identify phishing sites; They do not transmit data to the state system. MTS also does not yet transmit information to Anti-Phishing, but the company has free and paid solutions to combat fraud.

When blocking fraudulent resources, speed is essential, experts say, which is why they doubt the effectiveness of the current data sharing procedure.
