Starting in the second half of 2024, all Motorola mobile phones will have Gorilla Glass protection. The inclusion of reinforced glass is the result of a partnership between the manufacturers announced during MWC 2024.

Corning, the manufacturer of Gorilla Glass, is one of the most well-known brands in the smartphone screen protection segment. Its components are available in a wide range of devices, from entry-level mobile phones to high-end models.

Previously, Motorola only included Gorilla Glass protection on higher-cost models like the Moto Edge Plus. However, all the company’s launches will be protected by the partner manufacturer’s technology starting from the second half of the year.

According to Motorola, the collaboration with Corning is a result of consumers’ demand for “reliability and durability without compromising the elegant and modern design” of the devices. “By using Corning Gorilla Glass across all Motorola lines, we aim to lead the industry by ensuring every consumer has access to the durability and peace of mind that comes with this cutting-edge technology,” said Ruben Castano, Motorola’s president of customer experience.

While announcing the partnership, Motorola did not specify which device would be the first to receive the component from this partnership.

What is Gorilla Glass?

Gorilla Glass is a glass technology developed by Corning. The component is like a layer of protection for the screen of mobile devices and is available in a wide variety of options.

One of the company’s latest launches is Corning Gorilla Armor, a screen protection technology found on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
