In general, food intolerance is the body’s reaction to foods that are eaten in normal amounts. Also, this reaction does not affect the immune system. Food intolerances differ from allergies in that allergies cause the body to mount an immune response and produce chemicals that affect the heart, stomach, and respiratory system.

She is allergic to eggs, wheat, peanuts, shellfish. However, sometimes allergic reactions to these foods can be fatal.

As for food intolerance, it can progress in different ways. For example, a person with lactose intolerance does not have a special enzyme in the body that breaks down this substance. As a result, the person first experiences diarrhea, followed by gas formation, bloating, pain and discomfort.

Other examples of food intolerance are caffeine, histamine intolerance. The second ingredient is found in red wine, hard aged cheeses, blue cheeses, tomatoes, tuna and pork products. A person with a food intolerance will suffer from itching, skin rash, nausea, stomachache, dizziness, migraines and headaches.

But is it true that food intolerances are becoming more common these days? Scientists have no convincing evidence for this and the real numbers. This is because people with this condition usually don’t take medication and don’t seek emergency medical attention.

There are only a few guesses. For example, in a 2009 report, experts noted that about 20 percent of the population has food intolerances (one or more), and that number has risen to 25 percent in an online survey in 2020.

News cannot be equated with a doctor’s prescription. Consult an expert before making a decision.
