Google Wallet can now automatically import movie tickets and boarding passes received into Gmail. The source has been distributed as an update to all users since last Thursday (7).
“Movie tickets and boarding passes from Gmail now appear in Google Wallet when a user purchases a ticket and receives a confirmation email in their inbox,” Google explains in the update notes. “This integration is enabled for some international networks [de cinemas] and we are working with airlines to expand support,” he added.
New only works with emails that include a verification QR code in the body of the messageTherefore, if there is no content on the ticket or boarding pass, it may not be usable.
The new feature, although limited, makes Google Wallet a more useful tool for daily life, expanding the functionality of the tool and making the integration of the service and Gmail even more intimate.
Additionally, when the feature is active, you do not need to access the inbox to search for the email containing the ticket or boarding pass in question.
Better card management
Another new feature included in the update is the ability to archive passes in the Wallet. Now users can manually save tickets and boarding passes and move them to a specific section called “Archived Passes” located at the bottom of the screen.
The app also allows the user to reactivate an archived or expired pass to facilitate subsequent queries directly from the home screen.
Phased distribution
The new Google Wallet is generally available as an in-app update distributed through the Play Store. However, it is unclear whether this function is also available in Brazil.
