According to Haltbrekken, the Chemring Nobel explosives plant received permission to increase nitrogen emissions from 40 tonnes per year to 200 tonnes per year, ostensibly due to the conflict in Ukraine. This significant increase in emissions poses a serious threat to the fjord, which is already severely affected by nitrogen pollution.

Expressing his concerns, Haltbrekken asked Minister Eriksson about measures to neutralize the effects of such emissions. He proposed creating a fund, financed by companies such as Chemring Nobel, that would help clean up and restore nitrogen emissions from various parts of the fjord.
