There has been a catchphrase on the Internet for many years: “I’m too poor for this decent game”. As many have realized, this is an irony over the cost of in-game purchases in virtual stores.

Of course, many F2P games can be played comfortably without donating or investing small amounts of money. But there is an exception. In this article, I have collected five donation items that are worth a lot. Too much.

1. Golden Baby Roshan from DOTA 2

Price: 100,000 rubles

Believe it or not, I once saw this kid in person in a match. This was in 2016, if I’m not mistaken. The value of this item is that it could only be obtained by players who completed the “Darkness Rising 2012” event the fastest. Total issued no more than 20 such couriers, and it was impossible to purchase them in the game itself.

The cost of Steam trading tools fluctuates around thousands of rubles and has not decreased for many years.

2. Frigate “Golden Tycoon” from Eve Online

Price: $40,000

Eve Online is a space simulator with a common universe for all players, consisting of several thousand star systems. In this universe, players can perform many different tasks in piloting spaceships: mining, piracy, manufacturing, trading and communications, both with computer images and with other players.

Every year, a charity event “PLEX for Good” is held there, with donations going to the International Red Cross. Cash auctions also take place in the following format.

Within one of these, there was a player who put up for sale one of the rarest and most upgraded ships called Gold Magnate. The transaction amount was 40 thousand dollars, and all the funds actually went to charity.

3. “Burning Team Captain” hat from Team Fortess 2

Price: 5000 dollars

Hats have long been the main meme of Team Fortress 2, and some players have made a good deal of selling them. The most expensive is a special burning cap. The reason for the high cost is because the chance of it dropping from the loot box is effective.

That’s why your “Captain of the Burning Team” uniform cap costs at least five thousand dollars.

4. Souvenir copy of AWP Dragon Lore from Counter-Strike 2

Price: 6,300,000 rubles

This list would not be complete without Contra items. The regular version of Dragon Lore itself is one of the rarest colorways and costs a lot of money.

But its “souvenir” version costs much more. This skin was won by chance while watching tournaments (I had to watch matches on the Cobblestone map) in 2014. This AWP not only features a unique “Dragon Story” livery, but also decals with team tags, player nicknames and the name of the tournament.

The Steam skin has never appeared on the trading platform. However, there is reliable information about the sale of at least two transactions. In the first case, the last company is 6,300,000 rubles. The value of the second transaction was not disclosed.

5. Crossbow “Manticore” from Diablo 3

Price: $3500

Well, we’ll end with the Diablo 3 auction. Items found in the game could be sold for real money, and since their characteristics were random, sometimes players came across individual unique items.

One of the most advanced is the Manticore crossbow. It fell to the player and was, to put it mildly, awkward. The damage caused had no negative characteristics. Naturally, the player decided to sell it at auction. The transaction amount was $3,500.

But the happiness of the new owner did not last long. With the release of the global update, the crossbow began to practically lose to any new weapon in all respects, and its anomalously positive properties were balanced. In addition to the fact that the developers abandoned the auction system, it was impossible to earn more real money for virtual items.

I suggest you draw your own conclusions about this situation.

Games are sometimes very expensive.

And these are the most interesting and interesting examples of roads inside game stores. It is worth noting that this is rare in modern games; it has gone somewhere in the direction of such an elitist process.

Crossbows and rifles were replaced by a gacha system, where sometimes you need to spend thousands of money to get the desired character. But, to be honest, as for me, this is no longer the same; it’s more like being in a casino than purchasing something worthwhile.

Have you ever come across examples of such expensive items? Do you know any others? Or maybe become a happy owner? Write in the comments, we’ll be happy to discuss!
