Experts showed 29 zero-day vulnerabilities and received $1,132,500 for it!
What was hacked:
- Windows 11: HackInside and IBM X-Force teams demonstrated privilege escalation exploits.
- Linux Ubuntu: STAR Labs SG team found RCE vulnerabilities as well as ways to escalate privileges and evade Docker.
- Chrome and Edge: Manfred Paul of the Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) hacked these using 0-day bugs.
- Safari: Paul also discovered an RCE vulnerability in Safari.
- Firefox: Mozilla has already patched two zero-day vulnerabilities that Paul found.
- Tesla Model 3: The Synacktiv team received $200,000 and 20 Master of Pwn points for it.
Manufacturers reportedly have 90 days to release fixes. After this period, the Trend Micro Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) will publish details about the vulnerabilities found.
Note that, for example, Mozilla has already released updates for Firefox 124.0.1 and Firefox ESR 115.9.1 to fix the vulnerabilities found.
