Portal observers said that scammers send a potential victim a notification about the need to reset their Apple ID password and offer a form in which they need to click the “Allow” button. If the user clicks on the button, the scammers gain access to the account and can further blackmail, demand ransom for the victim, etc. It blocks the account for some reason.
The notification can arrive on your iPhone, Apple Watch or Mac computer. It is important not to ignore these notifications and not be deceived by such “concern”.
Observers also noted that if a person does not click the button on a fake notification, attackers can call him or her, pretending to be an Apple employee, and persuade him to reset his password and find the code sent to his phone.
Apple user Parth Patel, one of the victims of this fraud method, said that he “fell” for such a notification on social network X, which cost him several minutes of despair. However, he managed to defeat the password reset button by clicking on the “Do not allow” button about 100 times.
