The State Duma will soon introduce a bill “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.” The document proposes to grant the right to receive a property tax deduction to self-employed citizens. Now entrepreneurs have that privilege.
The reason for the development of the project is the numerous requests from autonomous citizens, of which there are more and more in Russia, Izvestia reported.
Ivan Abramov, deputy chairman of the Federation Council's economic policy committee, believes that the experiment on the effect of such a preferential tax regime turned out to be very successful. But if we compare the self-employed with individual entrepreneurs, natural persons, then they have fewer rights today.
The appearance of a property tax deduction will make it possible to popularize the status of the self-employed, so that as many Russians as possible come out of the shadows, especially since such a benefit is provided only once in a lifetime, the parliamentarian emphasized. . .
A property tax deduction is an amount that can be deducted from taxable income. Then, the personal income tax will have to be paid only for the difference between the income and the deduction. And if the tax has already been paid, you can return it from the budget.
In Russia, the number of self-employed exceeded 4.2 million people, their total income amounted to about 1 trillion rubles. Since 2019, self-employed workers generated 600 million checks, the average check amounted to about 1.5 thousand rubles.
In June, MTS analysts named the most popular professions among the self-employed: couriers, shippers and copywriters. 40% of all freelancers in Russia are located in five regions, and 80% of them are people aged 30-39.
