The developer of the PPSSPP emulator (for running Sony PSP games), Hendrik Rydgard, said that he is ready to release the application in the App Store after he explains the new rules in more detail.

Apple’s guidelines state that “retro gaming console emulator apps may offer game downloads.” If users can load their own game files into the emulator, the app could be released this year, Ridgard said.

But if the emulator only offers its own games, the application will not work because the developer does not have the rights to Sony PSP games.

Meanwhile, the Delta emulator has already received approval from Apple for release in the AltStore. This is an additional app store that will only work in the European Union. [PPSSPP]
