On March 1, Avtovaz resumed installing airbags on Lada Granta; The company’s press service explained to RIA Novosti that in February they were returned to the driver’s seat.
In spring 2022, the government updated auto certification standards so manufacturers could continue producing cars without missing components due to sanctions. Thus, cars of the Euro-0 environmental class can now be manufactured without ABS or airbags.
According to Avtovaz, the company has been working with a new airbag supplier since last month. Previously, due to sanctions, the manufacturer released a limited batch of Vesta and Granta without them.
Last October, Lada Granta sales reached an all-time high. During the month, the manufacturer sold almost 21 thousand units.
