The Xeon 6 family will bring together two types of chips previously announced under the code names Sierra Forest and Granite Rapids.
Sierra Forest Xeon 6 will focus on energy efficiency and will be equipped with up to 288 next-generation E-cores. Granite Rapids Xeon 6 will be based on high-performance P cores and will provide high computing power.
Intel is dropping the Scalable branding from its Xeon processor names. The new chips will only have serial numbers.
The first processors of the new line will appear in the second half of 2024. Sierra Forest will be first to hit the market, followed by Granite Rapids.
The new Xeon 6 will be a key element of the Intel Enterprise AI ecosystem, which will include a wide range of frameworks, hardware and partner solutions.
