Microsoft has no intention of liquidating its legal entity in Russia, writes TASS with reference to the corporation’s financial statements for 2023. Similar decisions were made a year earlier.

As follows from the document, the corporation does not plan to liquidate its main legal entity in Russia, Microsoft Rus. The corporation also retains Microsoft Development Center Rus and Microsoft Payments Rus.
The Microsoft Mobile Rus report does not indicate any decisions on the future activities of the structure. The organization has assets to pay short-term liabilities. At the same time, the structure stopped operating in 2016.
Microsoft began reducing its business in Russia in 2022, following the introduction of Russian troops into Ukraine. The company laid off all employees in the local office, now only two people work there, one of them is senior manager Benjamin Owen Orndorff.
At the end of 2023, the total revenue of all Russian legal entities of Microsoft amounted to 217 million rubles, up from 6.87 billion rubles in 2022. Last year’s net profit amounted to 141 million rubles, up from 178.3 million rubles in 2022.
In March 2024, Microsoft sent letters to Russian customers about suspending access to cloud products. The Russian company Softline told the agency that as of April 1 there were no blockages.
