Experts believe that like the Mate 60 series, these too feature an advanced Chinese-made chip.
While the Pura series has powerful cameras and stylish designs, the Mate focuses on productivity and business features.
Sales of Pro and Ultra versions of Pura 70 started on Thursday. Other versions will be released on April 22. The smartphones sold out in just a minute on Huawei’s official website. Hundreds of fans lined up outside stores in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
Ivan Lam, an analyst at Counterpoint, expects Huawei to ship around 60 million units this year, and thinks the Pura 70 series will play a significant role in this. Last year the company sold approximately 32 million smartphones.
The Pura 70 series currently consists of four models: 70, 70 Plus, 70 Pro and 70 Ultra. Starting price is around $760.
