A new breed of specialized “cleaners” for washing the floor: robotic wet-cleaning polishers. One of the brightest representatives is the ILIFE W455 model with WiFi control from a smartphone and tablet, as well as using a remote control. The mechanism with a rotating roller allows you to clean floor coverings on a large area in automatic mode, and a large enough waste tank allows you to work for a long time without maintenance (up to 60 minutes). The model is interesting, it really cleans dirt better than ordinary robotic vacuum cleaners with a simple napkin.

ILIFE W455 robot comes with a big box. Inside is a complete kit for the job, including everything you need, plus replacement parts and a cleaning tool.
The package includes: a remote control with batteries, user manuals in Russian and English, a power supply, a charging base, a spare roller, a brush and an L-shaped cleaning tool for removing hair/debris of the containers.
The appearance of ILIFE W455 floor polisher is shown in the pictures below. I note the general similarity with the ILIFE W400 model, the differences lie in the smarter controller of the novelty, which allows not only to work with the application for a smartphone and tablet, but also to control it with a remote control.
The control panel duplicates the main functions of the application: you can start automatic, contour and area cleaning, control the movement of the robot manually, change the cleaning parameters (rotation intensity and water supply), start repeated cleaning, etc. This will make it easier for older people to operate this robot. The user manual contains a lot of information about caring for the robot, as well as links to the app.
As I said before, the kit includes a spare roller. It is quite convenient: after cleaning, rinse and dry the dirty roller, and while it dries, install a new one, and the robot will be ready to work again. Also included is a special tool for cleaning rollers, rubber blades and containers.
The charger is included. The special shape of the cable glands inside the support allows you to lay the cable, avoiding wrinkles, choose the appropriate length at the outlet, eliminating excess. The robot itself is installed on contact pads to recharge. The stand has sides, so if water spills after cleaning, it will all stay on the pallet.
This is what the W455 robot looks like, installed in the base to recharge. Recesses are provided for the wheels and for the electrical contact pads there is a small shelf that rises above the common plane of the pallet.
Note. Due to the water collection mechanism with a rubber sheet, the robot adheres to the surface with a small gap, which means that it cannot overcome high thresholds or joints on its own. To transport the robot, a handle is provided on the upper part of the body. To install the robot on the base, you will also need to manually lift and move it over the sides of the pallet.
The entire mechanism can be seen at the bottom of the box. These are low wheels, a cleaning roller, a rubber sheet to collect excess water.
On the case there are navigation sensors and two control buttons. With the MODE button, you can select one of the cleaning modes, it also activates the WiFi connection. The power button also starts the self-cleaning process. A little further down is the lock on the container. Just lightly press the latch and pull the handle to “split” the box.
Inside there is a compartment for clean water with a valve and a filter. At the end there is a lid to drain the dirty water. Everything is quite easy to clean and clean after cleaning.
To control the robot, you can use not only the remote control, but also install the app on your smartphone or tablet. To do this, download ILIFE HOME from the application market, find the desired model and make a link under the instructions. Manual control, automatic cleaning, work statistics, cleaning intensity setting, etc. are available.
The robot came with about 40% charge and before the first cleaning I had to hold it on the base a bit. It is very convenient to control it from the remote control – we literally rearrange the robot from the base to the floor in the desired room and start the automatic mode with the middle button. You can adjust the intensity of the bottom buttons on the remote (rotate, forward, repeat). The arrows can be used to move the robot to the right place to remove a stain or spilled liquid.
Don’t forget to fill the appropriate tank with clean water. If you wish, you can add a low-foam detergent (“robot shampoo”). After cleaning, try to drain the dirty water that the robot collected during cleaning into a separate tank. Yes, and it will not be superfluous to rinse the roller and clean the rubber sheet from debris.
Surprisingly, this floor polisher cleans and really cleans floors, and doesn’t make a mess with napkins like robot vacuums. Leave a slightly damp surface for natural drying. For hardwood and laminate floors, you should not set the maximum water supply. But for tiles, please.
The ILIFE W455 robotic floor cleaner proved to be a quality addition to a conventional dry vacuum cleaner. Efficiently washes and cleans, if the floors are very dirty, you can activate a double or triple cleaning cycle. Yes, and finding consumables for sale is not difficult. The model with navigation, control via the app has become much more convenient to use than the simple W400. And the remote control is very useful, since it is more at hand than a smartphone. At the moment, the robot is sold at a low price of only ~ 12,000 rubles (do not forget about coupons at checkout).
