More than half of businessmen (53%) rated the financial situation of their companies as satisfactory, according to a joint survey by Sberbank, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Public Opinion Foundation “Businessmen of Russia: Monitoring Research” ( PRIM).

39% expect their financial situation to improve in 2025.
Compared to the last quarter, the number of business owners complaining about supplier price increases decreased from 70% to 62%; fewer people began to complain about problems with supplies from abroad: 33% compared to 39% in the previous quarter; sales decreased from 34% to 27%.
16% of entrepreneurs expanded their business in the first quarter of this year, and a third (32%) plan to do so in the next three to six months.
In most cases, plans to expand their business are made by men (38%), legal entities (39%), entrepreneurs with an annual turnover of more than 5 million rubles (39%), as well as entrepreneurs whose main clients are commercial companies. (37%) and government organizations (40%).
Therefore, the study authors conclude, expansion plans are more likely to be typical of large business owners.
During the PRIM, Russians between 18 and 64 years old are surveyed. Quarterly surveys are carried out among business owners, in which 1.2 thousand people participate, including business owners and the self-employed.
