During an event in São Paulo, Oppo officially announced the launch of its new mid-range smartphones in the Brazilian market, in addition to the Reno 11F 5G: Oppo A58 and A79. While the first two reach the national market starting today, the third is scheduled to be released for the first time on Brazilian soil at the end of May, all included in a promotion that will reward two people with an annual lifetime exchange for the manufacturer’s devices.

The devices are part of the brand’s strategy to enter the Brazilian market, with the aim of becoming the second best-selling device in the national mobile phone market. The company has been operating in Brazil since 2022, when it launched Reno 7 there.

The most basic of the new features is the Oppo A58, which comes with a 6.72-inch LCD display with Full HD resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate, along with stereo speakers. The processor is MediaTek Helio G85 along with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. In all new models of the brand, it is possible to use some of the internal space as additional RAM to increase performance.

The main rear camera is 50 MP, f/1.8 and is equipped with a 2 MP monochrome sensor to improve overall shots. For selfies, the front sensor is 8MP with f/2.0. The battery is 5,000mAh and comes with a 33W SuperVOOC fast charger. The device runs the Android 13 operating system from the factory with the brand’s ColoOS 13.1 interface, is also compatible with 4G networks and has a 3.5 mm P3 physical jack for headphones.

Just above its predecessor is the Oppo A79, which repeats the LCD panel size but increases the refresh rate to 90 Hz. The processor here is MediaTek Dimensity 6020 accompanied by 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal space.

The operating system, cameras, battery, charger and connectors are also the same as its more basic sibling, but another difference of this model is its compatibility with 5G mobile networks. The two devices also have IPX4 certification, which promises to be splash-proof, but not dust-proof or submerged in water.

Reno11 F 5G highlights generative artificial intelligence, image retouching and super fast charging features. The MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor powers the smartphone, accompanied by 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. Up to 8GB of this internal space can be used as extra RAM to boost the device’s performance, keep apps running in the background, and boost performance.

The screen features a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, Full HD + resolution, and 1,100 nits peak brightness. The operating system is Android 14 modified with Oppo’s ColorOS 14.0 interface, and the rear cameras include a 64 MP main sensor with f/1.7, as well as 8 MP and 117° ultra-wide angle with f/2.2 and f/2.4. On the software side, photo capabilities are enhanced with AI features like AI Eraser, which lets you easily erase unwanted objects and people from photos by filling in “holes” in AI-generated images. This is something similar to what Google and Samsung have promised with the latest members of the Pixel and Galaxy S series.

On the battery side, the Reno11 F comes with a 5,000 mAh reserve and comes with a 67W SuperVOOC charger that promises to charge the smartphone from zero to 100% in 48 minutes. Unlike other devices the brand is currently launching in Brazil, this model does not have a dedicated headphone jack, but it is IP65 certified, promising resistance to dust and jets of water, but it is not yet resistant to submersion.

Price, availability and annual exchange promotion

Both the Oppo A58 and A79 5G are currently available for purchase in Brazil; The first is available in black or green at a recommended price of R$ 1,599, the second in black or purple options and at a price of R$ 2,499. Reno11 F 5G is planned to be released at the end of May, but its official value has not been announced for now; imported versions can be found in markets for about R$ 2,899, but in the country without official support and warranty from the company.

According to Oppo, anyone who purchases one of the brand’s new smartphones from Magazine Luiza’s digital platforms by May 31, 2024 will compete in a promotion that will reward two people with an annual exchange of the manufacturer’s smartphones for life.
