The ants in the forest are the ordinances of the forest. But the ants in the summer cottage are aphids and burrowers of everything and everything. Therefore, most summer residents fight ants in different ways. Active and little active. Since I am also a full-time summer resident, the ant problem also concerns me. These little parasites not only spread aphids throughout the garden, infecting it and apple trees, cherry and cucumber beds. They also really like to make their homes out of strawberry bushes. After that, the strawberries begin to dry out and die. Given my local climate, I spend a lot of time growing different varieties of strawberries, including rare and expensive ones. And she has enough problems. And yet, these parasites pose problems. Therefore, I declared a fight against the ants, and for the second year I have been maintaining this state with varying degrees of success.
Last year, for example, we bought a special poison that had to be mixed with sugar or honey syrup, poured into caps and placed near a group of ants. The remedy was not very cheap, besides, sugar and honey cost even more. And the covers placed all over the garden just annoyed me, moreover, they also collected only flies, which, unlike ants, reacted to this poison. In addition, the liquid quickly evaporated, and if you need to water the garden, then consider that after that you need to induce the poison again and pour it into the caps. Since the diluted poison no longer attracted anyone, neither ants nor flies. As a result, whenever possible, I simply dug up mounds in the hope of getting rid of the colony.
In late summer, a friend advised me to spray common grits near the ant holes. Supposedly, the ants, having eaten it, die, and if they bring the semolina into the hole, having gained moisture, it expands and clogs all the passages in the tunnels. And the ants leave their colonies and go away. Since it was no longer possible to verify this in the fall, I waited for the new summer season. And began to spread semolina on the anthills. And yes, in some places the anthills really began to disappear. The truth is not everywhere and not in everyone. Also, now my part of the garden was covered with white spots of grits. In addition, after each watering, it was necessary to renew the sprayed semolina, since the one that was sprayed earlier gained moisture and ceased to interest the ants.
I don’t remember how or where, but I found a video on YouTube, where the girl also talked about how semolina works on ants. And she also showed that in her case it did not act at all, and then she showed the ant gel with the funny name “Great Warrior”, with which the ants disappeared a few hours after applying the remedy near the anthill. I remembered the name, and then I saw this gel in a nearby FixPrice store at a price of about 50 rubles. Well, I decided to buy. Here it is in such an eye-catching box:
The box contains information on the composition, precautions and instructions for use:
The gel itself is in a box inside a regular syringe, with a cap on the spout to prevent spillage:
And by the way, applying the gel with a syringe is very convenient. Simply press the piston or slightly squeeze it. Thus, we dispense the gel. Actually, what I did. I went to inspect the anthills in my country and began to pour gel directly on the ground, where the ants run and where they have holes. Yes, the box says the gel should be applied to pieces of cardboard, but I only spilled it on the ground or pebbles.
Here they are, dirty little tricks, already beginning to collect delicious poison:
And here you can see that there are semolina deposits near the minks:
I have sweet potatoes growing in compost inside my old tires. By the way, I can talk about growing it towards the end of fall, if I can get a harvest. But now about the poison. I applied this gel and after a few hours I didn’t see a single ant. Actually none. All roads are empty. I was delighted and, in addition, I spilled the gel on the apple trees and under the apple trees. Where ants run to graze aphids.
And after a couple of hours, I didn’t find a single ant on the branches either. And they just walked en masse. I hope that now, without protection, all kinds of ladybugs and other beetles will eat aphids.
Conclusion:
Well what can I say? He really didn’t expect a cheap fixprice remedy to be so effective. Initially, I bought two tubes of gel, but one was enough to get rid of most of the ant mounds:
I’ll keep the second tube for now, because it’s impossible to get rid of ants forever. There will be something to organize an ant genocide in a month. And, of course, I can safely recommend the Great Warrior gel for purchase, it really works and really gets rid of ants in the garden. However, it costs a pretty penny and is quite common. If you, like me, are trying unsuccessfully to fight against ants, this tool will most likely help you. how it helped me
