Ken Segall, former creative director of NeXT and Apple, said it’s time for Apple to beat the prefix in the iPhone name.
Segall worked with Steve Jobs from 1988 to 2000. He is the author of many NeXT and Apple advertising campaigns, including “Think Different.”
Segall also came up with the name iMac in 1998. Inside Apple, the iMac was called MacMan, but no one wanted to release it under that brand. Segall suggested calling the computer iMac, where I meant the Internet, and emphasized the availability of modern technologies at that time.
Later, the console began to be used in many important devices and services of the company: iBook, iTunes, iPod, iPhone and iPad.
In an interview with Wired, Segall said that it is time for Apple to win over the console, because at the moment it is pointless.
