The new patent once again points to a unique feature that will differentiate the company’s future devices in the market.

According to Android Authority, a document was recently filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) describing a device with a self-healing folding screen.

This innovation can be used on a variety of devices, including laptops, tablets, smartphones and wearables.

The patent states that the self-healing material can cover the entire screen or just a flexible part of it.

The patent describes an automatic self-healing process in which the material itself fills in dents and scratches. Healing can be accelerated using heat, light or electric current.

Also mentioned is the possibility of recovery due to heat that may occur during charging of the device or at a certain time.

Self-healing technology is already used in consumer electronics. For example, in 2013, LG released G Flex smartphones with a self-healing function for minor scratches on the back panel.

However, this technology had limitations and could not deal with deep damage.
