The income obtained from the increase in duties on imported wine will be used for the development of tourism within the framework of the corresponding national project. Vladimir Putin gave instructions to the government in this regard.
It should be noted that at least 50% of the revenue from taxes will be used to finance tourism.
Within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality” in Russia, six year-round federal tourist complexes will be built on the coasts of the seas and on Lake Baikal.
In 2023, the tax on wine imported from hostile countries was increased to 20%. In 2024, the specialized association proposed increasing the rights to 200%; The Federal Customs Service described the possible amount of duties as prohibitive.
