A new product from Huawei called Watch Fit 3 has arrived in Russia. I will boldly reject all owners of Android smartphones who like the appearance and functionality of the Apple Watch, but are not ready to change familiar operating system on iOS.

The points

  • Design and accessories
    Screen, autonomy
    OS, features
    Companion app
    Personal impressions and conclusions

The making of this smartwatch is very similar to the Apple Watch, but have a number of advantages that Apple does not have, for example:

● lighter weight
● advanced sleep monitoring
● work up to 10 days without recharging
● support for five satellite navigation systems.

In addition to the above features, the memorable, easy-to-read screen of Huawei Watch Fit 3 has many other programs for training, calorie counting, and all this in an aluminum case. It’s also nice that The device works with all operating systemsBoth Android and iOS, iPhone owners can fully use Watch Fit 3.

And this watch now costs 10,990 rubles. Agree, it makes sense to take a closer look at the new product, especially for that kind of money. What I did for you, I show you:

1. Design and accessories

They look expensive and stylish.

The case of Huawei Watch Fit 3 is made of metal and has a square shape with smooth corners and edges of letters. The screen is protected by a slightly rounded protective glass.

On the right edge there are controls in the form of a movable crown and a physical button. Using the crown, you can go to the watch menu and move between items by turning this “wheel” button, which serves to quickly call up the settings menu.

Of course, the screen is touch-sensitive, so you can navigate through the operating hours with your finger.

On the back there are sensors for reading pulse and other measuring instruments, as well as a magnetic one for connecting charging.

The back cover is glossy.

The charging cable is included, and I don’t recommend losing it, because you won’t be able to charge the Huawei Watch Fit 3 wirelessly. But there is a plus: You can charge the watch via cable not only from a power outlet, but also from any laptop and even from another smartphone that supports the power bank function.

You just need an adapter to USB-C, because the included cable is equipped with a regular USB.

It is better not to lose the included charging cable.

I received a Huawei Watch Fit 3 with a black fluoroelastomer strap included. Comfortable, hypoallergenic, easy to put on and watch. Huawei has developed its own strap mounting system for this model, so if you want to add variety to your look, you should take this into account, because any straps will not fit.

But this is not scary, fortunately the company took care of the choice, and on Chinese marketplaces you can already order many of them in a variety of colors without any problems.

By the hour, many straps have been officially released. Unofficially – even more.

The watch is very light weighs only 29 grams. without a strap, but case thickness – 9.9 mm. As for the shape, the Watch Fit 3 fits perfectly on the arm and does not fasten on the sleeve of clothing. Looks great both in the gym and as a daily portable business accessory.

It remains to add that the devices have reliable protection from water, so they cannot be removed in the pool or in the bathroom.

2. Screen, autonomy

Even at an angle, the screen is easy to read.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 with diagonal AMOLED display 1.82 inches. permission 480×408 pixels, 347 pixels per inchmaximum brightness 1500 nits. There is support for the Always On Display function and automatic brightness adjustment.

Screen refresh rates are the same 60 Hz, so all animations are smooth and pleasing to the eye. Colors don’t fade even when viewed from an angle, so you can easily read information from your wrist while sitting at your desk by just looking at your hand.

The screen size is sufficient to read notifications, various indicators and read messages. The controls are familiar: you can open the service menu by swiping up from the bottom of the screen, swiping to the left to delete messages, and so on. It’s great that you can not only read messages from instant messengers, but also immediately respond to them using templates or emoji.

The main menu is made in the form of clouds, which also looks familiar to me, as a former owner of an Apple watch.

The general menu is designed in the form of “cloud” icons.

Ten smart watches and fitness bracelets of various shapes have passed through my hands, and in the end I came to the conclusion that the square screen shape is the most convenient solution if you use any other functions other than find out the exact time. Any application occupies the maximum area of such a square screen, observing all the necessary data.

So in this regard, there are no complaints about Huawei Watch Fit 3. The screen is just what you need, and even in bright sunlight it is perfectly readable thanks to the significant amount of light.

The battery life is frankly encouraging: after six days of use with AoD turned on and constant notifications, plus running one-hour workouts several times, the watch was discharged by 68 percent. Excellent result, except that they charge quite quickly – in 50 minutes to 100%.

3. OS, capabilities

The interface is Russified in a nice font.

The watch runs on the HarmonyOS operating system, which has a pleasant-looking interface and does not cause irritation with freezes or bugs. All menu items and applications are Russified, the font looks normal.

Right out of the box, the watch comes pre-installed with several different watch faces that can be swapped out for the summer. Moreover, each has its own unusual image style in the Always on Display format.

There is a weather forecast, which is convenient.

If this is not enough, in the companion application, which will be discussed below, there is a full-fledged store with paid and stand-alone “watchfaces”, the number of which cannot be counted – they are worth it, for every taste.

The Watch Fit 3 is designed primarily as a fitness tracker, so you can find many functions in the menu to monitor the owner’s balance and physical parameters. It’s no joke, you can find about 100 types of workouts on the menu. To correctly collect information, the watch has a built-in sensor to determine the risk of arrhythmia and other areas of the heart.

Separately, I would like to tell you a short story about the built-in “get in shape” application, which helps you control your weight. It works like this: You enter a calorie goal by determining your weight and age, and then the watch will periodically show your progress toward your goal weight based on your activity.

In addition, it is possible to measure heart rate, blood SpO2 levels, stress and social movement. And for the fair sex, Watch Fit 3 has a built-in menstrual cycle calendar with recommendations to alleviate your condition on “these days.”

When you start a workout, for example, if you step on the treadmill, Huawei Watch Fit 3 will inform you of the distance traveled in English.

4. Companion app

The application works on any smartphone.

As I wrote above, Watch Fit 3 easily connects to any Android smartphone and Apple devices. The main thing is to download the free Huawei Health app from Google Play or the App Store.

The watch is periodically synchronized with the phone, and all your achievements and parameters can be viewed directly in this application.

There are also watch settings, a watch face store, the ability to create a training plan and a collection of your achievements. The interface is in English, everything is clear and convenient.

Huawei Health interface.

What you need to know: If you connect Huawei Watch Fit 3 to an iPhone, the App Gallery app store for the watch will not be available in Huawei Health. But this is a small problem, because today there is quite little useful in it. Yes, and quick reply templates cannot be changed if you are on iOS. This menu is available in the Android app only.

Of the two layers housed within the apps, the ones that really stand out are the synchronization of data with Google Calendar, the utility for managing the Spotify player, and Google Maps for the small screen.

5. Personal impressions and conclusions

Looks decent on the hand. You can wear it without hesitation.

During a week of using Huawei Watch Fit 3, I did not find any drawbacks in ease of use or functionality. This device is light enough that it won’t disturb a comfortable sleep, durable enough to stay on even in the sauna, and functional enough that I’m much less likely to take my smartphone out of my pocket for constant messages and notifications.

During training, the heart rate readings are compared with the apple watch and the resource in the treadmill-meter, taking it for this exercise. In personal observations, Watch Fit 3 showed heart rate readings more correctly, being off by 1-3 beats. At the moment, the clock from Cupertino shows a difference of 5-7 beats.

Reading messages from the screen is really convenient. Even if notifications from Telegram come in a string, one after another, there are no slowdowns for several hours, everything appears as smoothly as possible. Separately, I note that the watch correctly displays application icons from which notifications come.

Fitness bracelet and smart watch in one device. Normal

Several times we took calls with the iPhone on the watch, fortunately the built-in speaker and microphone allowed us to talk handsfree without taking the phone out of our pocket. You can hear your interlocutor well; during a conversation you don’t have to raise your voice or bring your eyes to your face; it’s enough to sit and keep your hand on the table. The interlocutors noted that there were no noises or conversations with me.

In general, Huawei Watch Fit 3 has received a worthy alternative between a fitness bracelet and a full-fledged smartwatch, taking the maximum from both the first and the second.

I would like to point out the advantages:

📍great screen
📍 long battery life
📍 Lots of features to keep you interested in sports
📍 smooth and responsive operating system
📍abundance of custom watch faces
📍 Connect to any smartphone

Of the minuses, you can find fault with the vibration motor; it vibrates quite quietly and can be missed under a jacket). Also, 24/7 there is no contactless payment option and there is no built-in Wi-Fi, but this is not even a minus, just for information.

Otherwise, Huawei Watch Fit 3 for its money, which is 10,990 rubles with a discount, is definitely worthy of your attention, regardless of what mobile phone you use.

The main thing is that this watch perfectly performs its main function – it allows you to power your smartphone less often, while you remain connected and “in the flow.”
