HE FBI released this Tuesday (28), some curious info: people are using it deep fakes for cheating recruiters inside remote job interviews. According to the US agency, more and more companies are reporting the situation to the authorities.

A deep fraud, even an amateur, is not the easiest thing to recognize in the world. In one of the recent cases, the interviewer noticed that the interviewee was coughing but his lips did not move, thus learning that he had been the victim of a blow.

Criminals can use other people’s videos, audios and even identities apply their candidacy to vacancies in the fields of informatics, database, programming and software.

The FBI found a pattern present in most cases. Open positions generally relate to positions where other employees have access to data sectors, and financial resourcesleading to possible internal fraud related to fraud or theft accurate information.

It is still unclear how many companies were harmed by the coup and how many attempts were successful. Fraud is difficult to detect as the victim has few signs that indicate fraud. Even symptoms such as a lack of synchronization between lip movements and voice can be circumvented under the pretext of video conferencing platform malfunctions or problems with the internet.

Deepfake uses Artificial intelligence and it can either be used with existing people’s faces or randomly generated from a set of faces to create a unique persona.
