Yulia Stankevich, senior researcher and laboratory head of ITC SB RAS, noted that approximately 150 patients were studied within the scope of the project. Based on MRI data, scientists aim to determine which patients have the best chance for rehabilitation. This will allow for more effective treatment and rehabilitation planning.

The study will last three years and include three phases of MRI examination of each patient. In addition to structural and functional MRI, blood flow volume will be examined and neurological assessment scales will be used. Stankevich added that the grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation will allow the purchase of new data analysis software that will provide more accurate results.

The purpose of the laboratory is not only to make scientific discoveries, but also to attract young specialists to research and publish articles in prestigious scientific journals.
